- Verizon Wireless has completed deployment of WPS Full Operational
Capability (FOC), which provides cellular voice calls with priority
access to local radio channels when originating a WPS call or
when terminating a WPS or GETS call. FOC also provides
priority treatment for WPS calls on an end-to-end basis through
nearly 90% of the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) and
to any cellular phone that is served by any WPS-enabled network.
- Verizon Wireless uses CDMA technology. When roaming, WPS functionality may be available
on other CDMA WPS-enabled networks. WPS functionality is not available
when roaming on CDMA networks that are not WPS enabled or in service
areas not covered by intercarrier roaming agreements.
WPS is requested for Verizon Wireless users through
the on-line GETS-WPS Information Delivery Service (G-WIDS). See
the Program Information section on how to obtain a Point of Contact
(POC) User ID and password to access G-WIDS.
